Rageh Omaar is recuperating at home after falling ill during ITV News at Ten

ITV News presenter Rageh Omaar expressed his gratitude for the outpouring of support and well wishes he received after becoming unwell during his hosting of News at Ten. In a statement, ITV confirmed that Omaar received medical attention and is now recuperating at home with his family.

Despite his health challenges during the broadcast, Omaar was determined to finish presenting the programme. He thanked everyone for their kindness, especially the medical staff, his colleagues at ITV News, and the viewers who expressed concern.

ITV also conveyed their wishes for Rageh’s swift recovery and stated they eagerly await his return to the screen when he feels ready.

On Saturday, many news presenters extended their well wishes for Omaar’s recovery on social media platforms. Marverine Cole, a colleague from ITV’s Good Morning Britain, sent her best wishes to Rageh, as did Channel 4 journalist Ayshah Tull and Sky News correspondent Ashna Hurynag.

Rageh Omaar is known for covering significant global news stories for ITV News and hosting the current affairs programme On Assignment. He gained prominence for his reporting on the Iraq war while working for the BBC in 2003.
