3 Bodies discovered in Mexico where Australian and US tourists disappeared

Mexican authorities have found three bodies in Baja California, where one American and two Australian tourists had been reported missing, according to a statement from the local prosecutor’s office on Friday night.

The missing individuals were identified as Australian brothers Callum Robinson, 33, and Jake Robinson, 30, along with American Carter Rhoad, 30. They were last seen on April 27 near the town of Ensenada while on a surfing vacation.

The prosecutor’s office plans to conduct forensic tests on the remains to confirm their identities. Investigators are actively searching the area for further evidence.

Authorities revealed that three individuals are under investigation in connection with the case, and arrest warrants have been issued for the crime of forced disappearance.

Tents and a burnt white pickup truck were discovered in the vicinity where the men were last seen.

Baja California, although generally considered safer around Ensenada, is known for its high crime rates. The U.S. State Department advises against travel to the state due to safety concerns.

Both U.S. and Australian authorities are closely monitoring the situation and providing support to the families during this difficult time.

The attorney general’s office in Baja California, Mexico, announced on Friday that three bodies were discovered during the search for three missing men, including one American. The statement did not confirm whether the bodies belonged to the missing individuals, stating, “This discovery was made in the course of searching for two Australians and one American who were reported missing.”
