Following the release of an update from the fifth season set of Stranger Things, fans have gone crazy.
One of Netflix’s biggest hits, the sci-fi drama series debuted in July 2016 and has made stars out of its actors.
In honor of the show’s eighth anniversary of premiere, the producers released a behind-the-scenes video revealing that season five filming was halfway completed.
Although an official release date for the final episodes of Stranger Things has not yet been announced, it has been rumored that they may air in 2019.
Is gang’s back together
The two-minute teaser video begins with an image of a clapperboard and then cuts to a montage of familiar show settings, including Hawkins High School.
Next, the video is narrated by Caleb McLaughlin, who plays Lucas: “Welcome to season five of Stranger Things.”
Then, a picture of the original quartet of characters from season one—Mike, Lucas, Will, and Dustin—is shown.
Fans had been anticipating to see the gang back again after they had been apart for a large portion of the fourth installment of the series.
The actor who plays Mike, Finn Wolfhard, states later in the video that he is “excited to have scenes with the original four”.
Growing up strange Things
The first season of Millie Bobbie Brown’s acting is intercut with a clip of her portraying the psychic character Eleven.
She states, “I started when I was ten years old.”
The celebrity continues, “I’m just turning 20 years old,” as the video turns to her operating a vehicle.
Eventually, Dustin’s actor Gaten Matarazzo is heard exclaiming, “This is home,” as he enters the set.
The actors on Stranger Things have aged significantly more than their characters due to the time between seasons, which has drawn criticism in the past.
Season four ended on a cliffhanger, so it appears like the show will continue where it left off.
Old and new faces in This Season
The villainous Vecna, played by British actor Jamie Campbell Bower, was also glimpsed by fans.
His character seemed to be able to escape a pivotal battle with Eleven at the end of season four, but not before creating a split between the character’s reality and the alternate dimension The Upside Down.
For a brief moment, Jamie can be seen approaching a makeup station, where he would have needed to spend hours getting fitted for prosthetic limbs.
Actress Linda Hamilton, who is most recognized for her roles in the Terminator films, is also shown in a brief scene.
The Duffer Brothers, who are the show’s directors, frequently incorporate pop culture references from the 1980s into Stranger Things. Actors who made their breakthrough during this decade have appeared in other programs.
Sean Astin from Goonies and Robert Englund, the actor who played the legendary Freddie Krueger in horror films, are among them.
