After Loreen’s triumph in Liverpool with her song “Tattoo,” the 68th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Sweden, featuring the Grand Final broadcast live from the prestigious Malmö Arena. Loreen’s success has paved the way for Sweden to host this exciting event, showcasing top musical talent from around the globe in the iconic setting of Malmö Arena.

This marks Sweden’s seventh time hosting the Contest, with the event being overseen by Hollywood star Malin Åkerman and iconic Eurovision veteran Petra Mede.

The Grand Final will feature performances from all the acts that successfully made it through their respective Semi-Finals, along with the automatic qualifiers: United Kingdom, France, Spain, Germany, and Italy (the Big Five), and last year’s winner Sweden.

Here’s a breakdown of what to expect and how to tune in to the Grand Final on the BBC:

Petra Mede, a fan favorite and Swedish comedian, returns to host Eurovision for the third time in 2024. She previously hosted the Song Contest in Malmö in 2013 and in Stockholm in 2016 alongside 2015 Eurovision winner Måns Zelmerlöw. The duo is remembered for their memorable interval act called “Love, Love, Peace, Peace.”

Malin Åkerman, a Swedish-American actress born in Stockholm and raised in Canada, will make her Eurovision hosting debut in Malmö. Currently residing in Los Angeles with her family, Åkerman’s connection to Sweden adds a special touch to the event.
